ST. JOHNSWORT FLOWERING TOP TINCTURE

ST. JOHNSWORT (Hypericum perforatum) herbal tincture is well known for its ability to relieve depression and anxiety. This herbal remedy also is a powerful anti-viral used to treat herpes and retro-viral infections. During the middle ages, St. Johnswort was named after John the Baptist and was traditionally collected on St. John’s Day, June 25. The blood red anointing oil produced by soaking the plant in olive was known as the “blood of Christ”. Its botanical name Hypericum, derived from the Greek hyperieum, means “over an apparition”. It was believed that St. Johnswort was so offensive to evil spirits that one whiff would drive them away.
