    Overpriced

This was a ripoff! After I got it I did the math and everything in here can be bought for around $120. Will not buy again.

    40 Day/Night Food Supply Pail

I like the fact that the food in this pail is 100% organically grown. Also, the green food in this pail

is outstanding, and is as good as any green food on the market.

Good kit but would last at most 20 days

I may get this kit as it's probably the only pre-packaged gluten-free organic ready-to-go bucket on the market. But be forewarned of the false advertising: It only provides 1,027 calories per day. See the "Nutritional Breakdown" tab.

They expect you to get through 40 days of crisis on those few calories. A crisis where you may be lifting, hammering, walking everywhere (or running!), etc.

They defend this decision by talking about empty calories versus nutrition (see the "Calories vs. Nutrition" tab) but that's based on a false premise. To thrive you need at least 2000 GOOD calories per day. Else why not eat just 500 calories of the world's most nutritious foods and be done?

With my body type and energy output during a crisis I'll need about 3500 per day. So this kit would last me maybe 10-15 days. Others who need fewer calories (small women/children) might stretch it to 20 days, but I can't see going beyond that.

Interestingly, the provide links on the "Calories vs. Nutrition" tab to validate their premise but instead each of them refutes it. This link says I need 2200 calories (non-crisis):

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empty_calorie

This link says processed foods should provide /more/ calories (though I know from experience and common sense that whole foods are better long term):

    http://www.precisionnutrition.com/digesting-whole-vs-processed-foods

This link says you need more whole food calories than empty ones for the same…

A bucket of beans is better than a bucket of crap

I agree with what William said. All this is is a bucket of beans and grains...and I LOVE IT! This is real food. I spent hours looking at all the nutrition facts of other stored foods and it basically is like storing fast food. I guess in this country, were people have no clue about nutrition, is why the other stored food companies are thriving. They are all packed with sodium, preservatives, GMO's. If they tell you different they are lying. I asked about the soy (since 95% of soy is GMO) and they couldn't give me a clear answer. That my friends is called a cover up.

I like this product because it is not trying to hide what it is. Just real food. This is how my parents stored food during the war and I imagine this is the same kind of food the settlers and pioneers used (minus the vacuum part).

I could probably do this myself but I don't have a organic source for all of these and frankly with 4 kids, a job and a wife who is disabled I don't have the time. This is simple, healthy, and just makes sense. Thanks and God Bless
